From his first trial batch in 1980, Rick has made over 300,000 gallons of wine over his career. Rick obsesses over quality fruit, fermentation processes and bringing forth bold flavors that are true to their fruit sources.
He has completed numerous winemaking courses at Ohio State, Cornell University and the University of California, Davis. Rick’s winemaking expertise has earned Benigna’s Creek multiple state and international awards.
In his free time, Rick enjoys hunting, working on automobiles, and treating his family to cookouts.
Co-founder & Vice President
Mike possesses a lifetime of agricultural knowledge and experience. From his early 20s he began overseeing the planting, tending and harvesting of grain crops on the family’s several hundred acre farm.
Since the family’s transition to viticulture in 1999, Mike has harvested over 1.5 million pounds of fruit and has grown grapes that have produced some of the highest awarded wines in Pennsylvania.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting, and is an active member of his church.
Jake is a sophomore Food Sciences major at Penn State University. As a child, Jake took a keen interest in learning the family business from his father, Mike, and his Uncle, Rick.
Upon graduation in 2022, Jake plans to join Benigna’s Creek in a formal wine making capacity.
In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
Madeline Klinger (Masser)
Madeline first fell in love with the family business while helping her grandmother plant Benigna’s Creek’s first vines when she was 7 years old.
Madeline graduated from Bloomsburg University with a degree in Business Management. After spending four years in the insurance industry, she rejoined the company in 2019. As a Marketing Specialist, Madeline is responsible for the company's web presence, including social media management and winery event planning.
In her free time, she enjoys trips to the beach and mountains as well as spending time with her husband and children.
